There's only one person I know, who would go for weeks, eating ice-cream for breakfast even in winter!! :D And as she puts it, how can a day ever go wrong, when you start it, with THAT!

You see, I'm a big, BIG Rowling fan, It's been over 10 years and not one drawing to remember it by? No way, so this is what came out of it! Lazy afternoon walks between classes with Harry, Hermione and Ron. :D Cheers to a true genius!

I wouldn't trade my colour pencils for anything! :D

A day with only downs and no ups! Was a day when I really wished I could come home to my dog waiting for me.

Konichiwa! Yes! Totoro is now a part of my family! Couldn't avoid putting that silly pink heart, I've been waiting his arrival for quite some time, and now he tells me he's here to stay!

These are long overdue Tokyo sketches, unfortunately didn't get the time to street sketch, schedule was packed, so got some photo references for these, hope you'll like them! They are a glimpse of a few places that I visited.

This is the official promo for our colleges' (NID) international animation film festival CHITRAKATHA 11' Edition 3.The Fest' was an absolutely mindblowing insight into animation around the world with eminent people coming in from across the globe and our very own land! ALL of this was organised beautifully by our department co-ordinator, Sekhar Mukherjee! If you'll were around to experience the enthusiasm, you've been lucky!

The promo was started two weeks before the festival. The animation, storyboarding and backgrounds were managed by me and my friend Dipankar Sengupta, clean up of character and outlining, character design, colour palette by me, final compositing was handled by my friend Shravan Arvind; and the saviors to all our last minute demanding for music and sound were Venkatram V and Matthew Jacob!
Thanks everyone awesome working together!

                                                                           ENJOY!

Was getting thoroughly restless yesterday and was aching to animate, so did this! I set my best friend's hair on fire! I'm sure he won't mind though :D Happy Diwali once again to everyone, have a safe one and contrary to this, don't set anything ablaze!

These were a set of illustrations used in a Workshop for developing a Community Museum for SEWA (Self Employed Women’s Association), a project undertaken by my college, the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. The purpose of the set of illustrations is visualizing an existing space as a future exhibit of textiles traditions, lifestyle and art of the local communities.

Also
here's wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali! May the festivity begin!.

The Boy Who Slept in Class

This is the video link and some film stills from my final diploma project, 'The Boy Who Slept in Class', at NID, that I completed end of August this year. I worked for an NGO, Thoughtshop Foundation (http://thoughtshopfoundation.org/index.html ), Kolkata. The subject of the film is Domestic Violence (DV) and how it affects children and their performance in schools. This particular script has been adapted from a short story, 'The Boy Who Slept in Class', which is part of their publication and campaign, 'Schools Show the Way'. The srcipt has been revised and rewritten and the film animated by me under the guidance of Santayan and Himalini, my project heads at the organisation, and Sekhar from my Institute (NID).
The sound and music has been composed by Santayan. The dialogue is in gibberish, it will be shown to teachers in rural schools around the country.
The film has been produced by Thoughtshop Foundation, in association with We Can, India (as a part of their campaign to stop violence against women).

Also! this film has won the TBS DigiCon6 International Film Festival Award from India this year and will be screened at the award ceremony in Tokyo on the 18th of November!.

We spread a positive message against violence and hope this film encourages one to voice and express.
The Adventures of a Little Mis's'fit

This is the video and a few film stills from my classroom project 'The Adventures of a Little Mis's'fit' that I finished sometime at the beginning of this year! It's a somewhat personal story and you might relate to it. It is about me as a child and my giant spectacles that attracted a lot of unwanted attention to the things I did and the way I looked. My escape and solution to this was and is my imagination! Hope you'll enjoy it!

This film was nominated for:
Tasi Viewers Choice Awards 2011,
Kalpanirjhar International Short Fiction Film Festival 2011,
Chitrakatha'11 International Student Animation Festival NID,
International Animation Film Festival-JIAFF-2011.
