 She knit the coolest mufflers and overcoats, told me the most descriptive and engaging stories, sang songs from old rhymes to English pop' with me, could switch from telugu to french in a wink and cooked the most amazing mutton curry, rasam and rice. I miss you so much Naanu. But I know you're in good company and the furry boy is around to protect you.

Sometimes, some dreams, do come true. I remember sitting with my history project on the Renaissance while growing up, and wondering to myself if such places did, in reality, exist. I had seen pictures, which were not only breath-taking, but unfamilar and alien. I promised myself, that some day, far into the future, I would save up and find out. 

This summer, I had the immense satisfaction of striking one wish off of my bucket list.

(The Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois has a very dark history with respect to the 1572 massacre, google it or find a book!)

Initially, I wanted to do a moving background for this, which I did eventually and then discarded to try out lighting and shade on the character. I had some good fun doing this! Enjoy!

Of course, I strongly believe we don't need a single day to celebrate how much we love our mothers. But keeping a date down in the calender just for Ma, is also something so special. Here's to the woman who magically seems to be the solution to every problem, giver of endless abundant love and the superpower that keeps everything in perfect balance. Mamma, we love you.

I was listening to Bob Acri's piano music, and I think I instantly saw exactly where I wanted to be in the near future, of course listening to Acri's piano alongside. Now this to me is my ideal space. I'm getting there, I already have the shorts :). The perfect way to look at this would be to be playing Bob Acri on the side. (Windows users may also have one of his tracks as a part of their sample music :) ).

This is for Thoughtshop Foundation. The colours are coded for six faces of eight cubes. Participants roll the cubes like dice and get to tell a story with the top faces of all eight cubes. I had a ton of fun working on this, working for them is always a pleasure.

These illustrations are for “Storybox”, a skill-building game that encourages positive thinking. It is part of a set of participatory tools for youth Change Makers – volunteers with the WE CAN CAMPAIGN.

The game stimulates the ability to envision positive outcomes for girls and women in adverse circumstances. It has been designed in response to the need to empower young people, to enable them to act with inspiration and hope when dealing with situations of gender based discriminations and violence they see around them.

The tool is being piloted in English and Hindi through a few organizations associated with We Can Campaign.

There should be links to download USER MANUALS and DIY kits on the Thoughtshop Foundation website soon. I shall update this space as soon as the links are up!
